Eligibility before account access

Age Requirement

The private local guest experience begins without age collection. Immediately before account creation or sign-in through Apple, Google, or email/password, Vignetra presents a self-declared 13+ eligibility warning. An under-13 declaration stops only authentication and returns the person to local guest use without creating or entering an account. This is not proof of age, and the declaration relies on information supplied by the person and does not independently verify identity or guarantee accuracy.

13+ before account access

A person who declares they are age 13 or over may continue to authentication and use account, cloud, social, and account-notification features. An unknown or under-13 declaration cannot continue and returns to the private local guest experience.

Data minimization

The birth date is not stored

Vignetra does not ask for a birth date to begin guest use. Immediately before account creation or sign-in, it evaluates a date entered in the app on the device only to determine whether the declaration is under 13 or 13+. It retains the eligibility result and declaration status—not the date itself. The result is not proof of age.

No override

No guardian override

Vignetra does not operate a guardian-approval workflow for an under-13 account. A future account experience for children under 13 would require a separate legal, privacy, advertising, and engineering review.

At the account boundary: an unknown or under-13 declaration stops authentication, creates no online account, and leaves account-specific cloud, social, and notification access unavailable. The person returns to private local guest use; a person who declares they are age 13 or over may continue. Advertising and ATT are independent of this result and remain available for every eligibility result, subject to privacy choices and system or regional availability. Google Mobile Ads age-treatment flags stay unspecified/default for everyone, and a global G content ceiling applies. Google’s User Messaging Platform and, on iOS, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency choice independently govern advertising consent and permitted personalization. ATT is not age verification.

A clear sign-in rule.

Account eligibility, the in-app check, backend authorization, privacy policy, and terms must remain aligned; advertising privacy choices remain separate.

Can a parent or guardian approve an under-13 account?

No. Vignetra does not offer a guardian-approval override in this release. Online accounts, cloud sync, and social features are available from age 13, subject to any higher requirement imposed by local law.

What will Vignetra retain?

Guest use does not require an age record. If someone attempts sign-in, Vignetra retains a self-declared under-13 or 13+ eligibility result, declaration method, and check date—not the date of birth entered in the app. This is not proof of age, and the declaration relies on information supplied by the person and does not independently verify identity or guarantee accuracy. Only a 13+ result can be associated with an online account.

Can someone continue as a guest after a blocked sign-in?

Yes. An unknown or under-13 declaration stops only sign-in, creates no account, and returns the person to the private local guest experience. Local use and advertising continue.

What if the eligibility information was entered incorrectly?

Do not create another account to bypass the protection. Contact privacy@vignetra.com for an age-eligibility correction or deletion request.
