Before Apple or Google sign-in, Vignetra uses the entered date only on the device to calculate an age range. Vignetra stores the range and assurance status—not the date itself.

For an under-13 user, friends, sharing, cloud notes, notifications, and synced details remain unavailable until a legally appropriate guardian-verification process is active and completed.

Vignetra will not treat a checkbox, a child’s statement, or an unverified email as parental consent.
During testing: verified guardian enrollment is not yet active. An under-13 result keeps the app local-only and stops before Apple or Google authentication. No child profile, friend graph, shared media, cloud notes, push token, or synced metadata is created through that flow.
When verification launches

The final process will use a specialized verification provider or recognized safe-harbor method and will explain its data handling before anything is submitted.
What will a guardian approve?
The guardian will see the online features involved and choose whether the child may use account metadata sync, friends, private sharing and cards, shared notes and hearts, and notifications. Vignetra may group required features into understandable scopes when separating them would make the service unsafe or unusable.
What will Vignetra retain?
Vignetra is designed to retain the approval result, selected scopes, timestamps, verification method, policy version, and a minimal compliance receipt. A verification provider may process additional proof under its own notice; Vignetra does not need a copy of the guardian’s identification document.
Can consent be withdrawn?
Yes. Withdrawal disables the child’s online social and sync access and allows associated cloud data to be deleted. Local moments and original device-library media are not removed merely because online consent ends.
What if the age range was entered incorrectly?
Do not create another account to bypass the protection. Contact privacy@vignetra.com for an age-range correction or deletion request.
